At its core, the GII 2023 reveals who is leading in global innovation, ranking the innovation performance of 132 economies and highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. For the 13th consecutive year, Switzerland takes the first rank in the GII. It is the global leader in innovation outputs, in both âKnowledge and technology outputsâ and âCreative outputsâ.
In the latest Global Innovation Index, Switzerland is followed by Sweden and USA in second and third places, while âmega-economiesâ China and Japan were ranked at 12 and 13 respectively.
